Nadi Back Road - Meigunyah - Nasau
The Meigunyah - Nasau area extends inland from the Nadi Back Road. Traditionally, the fertile flat land has been extensively planted with sugar cane; however changes in the sugar industry, combined with the continued growth of the Nadi region through the International Airport and transport and tourism industries, have increased interest in subdivision and development along the Nadi Back Roa sidential, commercial and industrial development interest, related to and dependent on nearby Nadi Town.
The Advisory Plan was commenced in late 2006 to describe the opportunities and challenges of development in the area and identify the optimum long-term
land uses for between Nadi Town and Meigunyah and Nasau. The resulting Local Area Advisory Plan will guide the local authority and the Department in future decisions about development and land
management in the area. The advisory plan is due for completion by July 2007.
